Job Summary:

Provides oversight and direction to ensure the proper design, implementation, and administration of Transportation safety programs, policies, and procedures to support TGS Operations objectives.

Job Duties:

  • Uses extensive knowledge of railroad operations to assess the level of compliance with all TGS and FRA safety rules and regulations;
  • Provides guidance to Transportation leadership team on both strategic and tactical efforts to improve safety;
  • Conducts regular risk assessments and audits to monitor and validate compliance with all safety initiatives;
  • Participates as a member of the joint operational testing teams;
  • Assists Transportation Department leaders research, analysis, and development of actions plans as necessary;
  • Conducts thorough incident reviews and reenactments to determine the root-cause and corrective actions necessary for sustained improvements and operational efficiency;
  • Exemplifies TGS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma - General Studies - GED - General Studies;
  • 3 years experience in Business Management, Safety, Logistics or Operations Management;
  • 3-5 years experience in a railroad supervisory capacity
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Safety, Logistics or Operations Management;
  • Five years’ experience in field railroad operations position or equivalent;
  • Certified locomotive engineer pursuant to 49 CFR 240, or
  • Certified conductor pursuant to 49 CFR 242.

The successful candidate will be based in in the Greater Houston Area, however they should expect travel when necessary.
